De-sexing, Vaccinations & Insurance
Why do I do this?
The reproductive potential of a single female cat is estimated at 300 kittens in her reproductive lifetime. The potential for a male cat is far beyond that. Responsible cat ownership includes having cats desexed at or before puberty. There is no health or welfare advantage for female cats to have a litter before being desexed. To prevent unplanned breeding, my kittens will all be desexed.
When do the kittens get de-sexed?
Munchkin kittens are de-sexed at approximately 12 weeks, with a minimum weight of 1kg. Early desexing does not adversely affect the physiological or behavioural development in cats. It should be noted that desexing, especially at an earlier age, will reduce the likelihood of some cat behaviours to which humans may object (such as spraying, straying and vocalising).
Can I buy a kitten that is not fixed?
As a responsible breeder, I will only sell unfixed cats or kittens to registered breeders. If you are a fellow breeder, please feel free to contact me on the details below.
Vaccinations
All of my kittens come with their 8 + 12 week vaccinations. The next vaccination is due at 16 weeks, and then annual from there. They will come with their pet health book, which shows the brand of vaccinations have been used. I recommend asking your pet professional to use the same brands to avoid any unwanted reactions.
Pet Insurance
For added peace of mind, you will also receive 12 weeks of pet insurance at no charge. You have the option to extend this (costs apply).
